Asiah & Jimmy’s Brewery Engagement at New Belgium

It’s always special when a love story comes full circle, and for us, being part of Asiah and Jimmy’s journey has been nothing short of incredible. We first met these two back in 2023 at Asiah’s sister, Kiani’s wedding.

As part of the wedding party, they were already pros at being in front of the camera, but more than that, we clicked with them instantly. Their easygoing personalities and undeniable chemistry made it so fun to connect, and since then, we’ve had plenty of chances to hang out in anticipation of their upcoming wedding at Black Forest in Colorado Springs.

So when it came time for their engagement session, it made perfect sense to head to a brewery—because let’s be honest, these two love a good date night at a brewery or winery. We found ourselves at New Belgium in Fort Collins, and the whole vibe was just effortless.

After our time at New Belgium, we wandered to Old Town Fort Collins.  It’s one of my favorite spots to stroll, especially down the cobble stone alleys.

Between the relaxed setting, the clinking of glasses, and the natural way these two just fit together, capturing their love story felt like second nature. It also helps when you have a prop like your favorite beverage in hand!

How It All Began

In true rom-com fashion, Asiah and Jimmy’s story started thanks to a mix of chance, persistence, and a little bit of sibling meddling.

Their paths first crossed in February 2020 when Kiani (with a bit of force) dragged Asiah out of her apartment for a bowling night at Fort Carson. Jimmy, who had recently bonded with Dalton over a very inconvenient Humvee tire replacement in the snow, found himself tagging along after a few celebratory drinks in the barracks.

At the time, Asiah was a full-time student and wasn’t exactly thrilled about being pulled away from her studies—but there she was, assembling Valentine’s Day cards for Kiani’s students while Jimmy tried (and failed) to get her attention.

Then COVID hit. With lockdowns in full effect, their only option for socializing was through small hangouts at Asiah and Kiani’s apartment. Jimmy kept showing up with Dalton, and little by little, a friendship formed.

When Kiani and Dalton moved into a new home in Fountain, CO, Jimmy made his move—literally. At a housewarming party, he insisted on joining Asiah on a quick trip to the store, and that was the night he finally got her number.

Endless games of Words With Friends followed, along with a growing connection that neither of them could ignore. By the time Jimmy officially moved in as a roommate, friendship had already blossomed into something deeper, and soon enough, they were inseparable.

The Proposal: A Sunset, A Ring, and a Classic Asiah Reaction

Fast forward to 2022—after Jimmy had moved their entire life (and their beloved fur baby, Plump) from Fountain to Thornton while Asiah was deployed. When she returned that September, they wasted no time settling into their new chapter. In October, they adopted their first dog together, Willow May, and realized they needed to be intentional about dating and reconnecting.

That’s when Jimmy planned the date—a full day in Golden, CO, complete with breakfast burritos, an unexpected lunch experience, and a sunset stop at Lookout Mountain. But, as with most big moments, timing was tricky.

They arrived over an hour early, had pending dinner reservations, and still needed to run home to take care of their pup. Amidst all of this, Jimmy was visibly antsy, cracking jokes about jumping off the mountain to hide his nerves. Finally, he reached the point of no return—”If I don’t do this now, I’m not going to,” he blurted before dropping to one knee.

And Asiah’s first response? A classic: “What are you doing?”

But once reality set in, she said yes, and just like that, their next adventure began.

Counting Down to ‘I Do’

From that first bowling alley run-in to their engagement at Lookout Mountain, Asiah and Jimmy’s story has been one of persistence, laughter, and deep-rooted love. We’ve loved every moment we’ve spent with them—whether it was celebrating their engagement at New Belgium, capturing their winter photo session, or sitting down over drinks to iron out wedding day details (because let’s be honest, navigating family portraits without a plan is a risk we’re not taking).

Now, with their Colorado Springs wedding at Black Forest right around the corner, we couldn’t be more excited to capture the next chapter of their love story.

Here’s to a lifetime of brewery dates, Words With Friends battles, and the kind of love that’s built to last. Cheers to you, Asiah and Jimmy!
