Morgan + Garrett’s Spruce Mountain Wedding

Some days feel straight out of a dream, and Morgan and Garrett’s wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado, was one of those magical days. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, with crisp fall air and golden leaves painting the landscape. The mountains stood tall as witnesses to their love, creating a breathtaking backdrop for their vows. As a Larkspur Wedding Photographer and Videographer, I’ve seen my share of beautiful days, but this one truly stood out.

The day was full of joy and deep emotion, woven with memories of Morgan’s mom. Though her absence was keenly felt, her presence was unmistakable. Morgan carried her mom close, with a bouquet adorned with her favorite flowers—mums—and a charm that served as a constant reminder of the love that shaped her.

The moments leading up to the ceremony were as heartfelt as they come. Morgan’s future mother-in-law and best friends filled the room with laughter as she prepared to step into her gown, a vision of elegance. When she finally saw her reflection, the weight of the moment hit, and it was impossible not to get swept up in the emotion. Her dad’s reaction during their first look was the kind of moment that gives you goosebumps—pure, unfiltered love.

Spruce Mountain Ranch is one of those venues that feels like it was made for weddings like this. Brandi from Cheers did an incredible job coordinating every detail, and let me tell you, Biscuits and Berries nailed it with their liquid nitrogen ice cream sandwich bar. Yes, it was as amazing as it sounds. Oh, and let’s talk about the reception drapery from Colorado Lighting and Events —absolutely transformative. It turned the rustic ranch interior into a high-end mountain château. Every wedding here should have that level of elegance.

The florals were another standout. Designed by a family friend and retired florist, the arrangements perfectly captured the essence of fall—warm, vibrant, and bursting with life. And then there were Morgan’s “stand-in moms”—her mom’s best friends—who surrounded her with love and support throughout the day. They truly made the celebration feel like a family affair.

Garrett’s Air Force roots brought another layer of meaning to the day. His brother and best man, Mason, is one of our past BGP couples with his wife Carlyanne (linking their Cielo at Castle Pines wedding here). Seeing them again was such a treat, and Mason’s toast had everyone in stitches with stories from their childhood and his first impressions of Morgan. Weddings like this remind us why we love being a Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding Photographer and Videographer—it’s all about these meaningful connections.

The reception was filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and even a musical performance from Morgan’s maid of honor and close friend. Their voices were incredible and left everyone with chills. The cake? Oh, it was perfect—a skiing bride and groom topper that paid homage to one of Morgan and Garrett’s favorite pastimes and their first memorable date. Guests sipped drinks with custom koozies featuring clever last-name puns, which were a total hit.

As the night went on, it was impossible not to be moved by the love that surrounded Morgan and Garrett. From the thoughtful details to the overwhelming sense of joy, this wedding will always hold a special place in our hearts.
