Oh, friends, let me tell you about the magical day we had with Emily and James at The Oaks at Plum Creek. Picture a perfect Colorado day, filled with laughter, love, and the kind of beauty that makes your heart skip a beat.

The whole day was like stepping into a bright floral garden dream. Earthtones Floral outdid themselves, creating a cascade of vibrant blooms that lined the aisle, adorned the tiered stands at the altar, and graced the tables, all softly illuminated by candlelight. It was an atmosphere dripping with elegance and romance, setting the stage for Emily and James’ fairytale wedding.

The floral garden wedding theme, was a perfect match for our engagement session at The Denver Botanic Gardens with Emily and James this past summer.

The day started with Emily sharing some heartfelt moments with her mom and sister. They unwrapped a precious pearl bracelet, a gift from her mom, who believes that every bride should have one. Emily also received a sweet locket necklace from James, filled with sentimental value. And before slipping into her wedding dress, Emily proudly showed off her robe, embellished with details from her mom’s own wedding dress—a touching tradition she shared with her sister.

If there’s one thing you should know about Emily, it’s that her love language is gifts. She showered everyone with thoughtful presents, from jewelry to a watch for James, and even packets of wildflower seeds for guests to take home.

We were lucky to work with an amazing wedding party that kept the day lively and fun. Jeremy and I had such a blast, laughing and enjoying every moment, which made it easy for us to get creative with our shots. Big shoutout to Stefany from Brindle and Oak for her impeccable coordination—she seamlessly brought together all the design elements and kept everything running smoothly.

Before the ceremony, Emily and James shared a private first look, exchanging heartfelt letters filled with promises for the future. These letters were tucked into leather-bound journals they plan to fill with love notes over the years—a beautiful tradition to cherish.

As Emily made her way down the aisle, a live harpist played serenely, but just as she began her walk, the skies opened up with a few raindrops and some distant thunder. Thankfully, The Oaks had umbrellas ready for the guests, adding a touch of whimsy to the ceremony.

The rain might have moved some portrait moments indoors, but the stunning architecture of The Oaks gave us plenty of beautiful backdrops. Plus, it added a cozy, intimate feel to the photos.

The celebration flowed seamlessly from one moment to the next, with champagne greeting guests and custom signature cocktails for the bride and groom. During cocktail hour, Emily and James signed their marriage license, taking a celebratory shot together before Emily changed into the first of her three stunning outfits for the night.

And let’s talk about the music! Diamond Empire Band, a powerhouse live band, complete with a horn section, kept the dance floor alive. Their energy was infectious, and their talent was off the charts.

But my favorite moment of the night? Hands down, the father-daughter dance. Emily and her dad took over the dance floor with pure joy, dancing to “Dancing Queen.” It was like a scene from her childhood, filled with laughter and love. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, and you could feel the deep bond they shared.

To cap off this incredible day, Emily and James were surprised with a classic getaway car. We captured some beautiful photos with the car before they made their official exit, heading off to their after-party and the start of their new adventure together.

As Castle Rock Wedding Photographers and Videographers, we live for days like this—filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. Cheers to Emily and James for letting us be a part of their beautiful story!
